Get to Know Alan

Alan’s passion for great food started at the young age of 16, when he moved to France to work in Michelin Star Restaurants and learn the secrets of great French Cuisine. His career in the UK saw him work throughout multiple award winning restaurants and under such Chefs as Marco Pierre White. Alan moved to Australia in 2013 to work at Homage restaurant in Grandchester where his love for Australian Produce began. Focusing on Farm to Fork dishes, the restaurant won several accolades and its first ever Chef Hat. Alan’s experience at great Australian restaurants includes 2 Hat NuNu’s in Palm Cove, and 1 Hat Tarrawarra in the Yarra Valley. Alan spent 2 years running The Stables at Stones in the Yarra Valley, delivering seasonal degustation menus using only the best of the region’s ingredients. Alan then went to work at The Long Apron restaurant on the Sunshine Coast as Sous Chef under Chris Hagan for two years where he has perfected the combination of traditional French cuisine and great Australian produce. Alan now focuses on bringing fine dining experiences to the comfort of your home, delivering elegant dishes which are both unpretentious and delicious without ever leaving your kitchen.


I booked Alan to cook for us in our Airbnb in Maleny. We wanted something special as we hadn't caught up with our family for months. From the moment I made contact with Alan I knew this was going to be a magical experience, and boy was I correct! Alan worked with me creating a menu we would all love. I had a couple of fussy eaters and that was no problem at all. He even helped us choose matching wines. On the night of the dinner, Alan and his sous chef arrived on time and everything was very professional. He had just picked up the most exquisite fresh produce. I loved the fact that Alan was so friendly, he didn't mind having a chat and showing us some of his techniques. We felt at ease and really enjoyed his company. Now the food........ WOW, My husband and I have eaten at some of the best restaurants in the world, We are real foodies and agreed this was some of the BEST we have ever eaten. The flavours just popped, the dishes were perfectly balanced and we couldn't wait for the next course to be served. We got to experience 6 of Alans dishes and each dish was perfection. Sometimes fine-dining leaves you a hungry after the meal, This meal did not, the portions were generous and even my 20-year-old nephew was full. I was so happy to see my normally picky 13-year-old daughter enjoying the food, she said it was the best she had ever had and ended up eating every course! It was a beautiful night and we will be using Alan for ALL of our future dinners and parties. So glad we found him.
